Turf smoke, wet gorse and a little salt — the smell of the pour room itself, which is why it was the first one we ever sold.
Delivery €5.50 in Ireland, 2—4 working days, free over €60. Returns taken for 30 days if the wick has not been lit.
The box itself is 1.5 mm greyboard with no print and no tape. It goes in the kerbside bin whole, or back to us flat with a return.
A candle learns its shape on the first burn. Give it long enough to reach the glass the first time and it will never tunnel again; cut it short and you lose a third of the wax to the wall.
Long enough for the melt pool to reach the glass right across. Anything shorter sets a memory ring you cannot undo.
3 hrsCold wick, every time, with the trimmer in the box. A tall wick is the only reason a rapeseed candle smokes.
8 mmAfter four the glass is hot enough to dull the scent. Put the lid on, let it set, light it again that evening.
4 hrsTurf smoke first, dry rather than sweet, then cut gorse and a mineral saltiness underneath. It is a cold smell, not a comforting one. People either love it on the strip or they never come back to it.
€5.50 in Ireland and two to four working days from the Thursday post; free over €60. Britain and the EU are €9.00 and five to eight days. Orders placed after six on Wednesday go the following week.
Thirty days from delivery while the wick is unlit. Lit candles cannot be taken back, but if one tunnels or smokes in its first week we will replace it and want to hear why.
220 g holds a room up to about 20 m² — a bedroom, a snug, a small office. 420 g covers 20 to 45 m² with three wicks and a wider pool. A hallway with a draught needs the larger one whatever its floor area says.
Yes — the 220 g plug is cut to 78 mm, which is this glass exactly. Wash the empty with hot water and a drop of soap, dry it fully, drop the plug in and press. It burns the same as the first fill.
