A candle is the only thing we sell that you are meant to use up.

Which is why the shop is built around the second purchase rather than the first. The glass is the expensive part and it stays with you; the wax comes back by post for €14 and the shelf never sells you the same jar twice.

The pour room

Nine days between the pot and the post

Wax goes in at 68°C and comes out of the mould at room temperature the same evening. Then it sits. A candle poured on Tuesday is not posted until the Thursday of the following week, because a candle that has not cured will tunnel on its first burn and you will never get it back.

Everything is made in one room on Lower Quay by two people, which is also why the shelf is only ever twelve deep.

Keep the glass

Refills, posted flat

Every candle is sold once and refilled after that. The wax plug arrives with a new wick and a sticker; you wash the glass, drop it in, and it burns the same as the first one.

What does delivery cost and how long does it take

Ireland is €5.50 and arrives in two to four working days; free over €60. Britain and the EU are €9.00 and take five to eight days. Everything posted from the Roundstone office on a Thursday.

How long is the returns window

Thirty days from the day it lands, as long as the candle has not been lit. Send it back in the box it came in and we refund the candle and the outbound postage.

Which size suits which room

The 220 g single wick is right up to about 20 m² — a bedroom, a small sitting room, an office. The 420 g three-wick is for 20—45 m², a kitchen-dining room or a shop floor. Above that, two 220 g candles at either end beat one large one.

What actually arrives in the box

The candle in its glass, a pressed-board lid, a wick trimmer card, a burn card with the pour date written on it by hand, and tissue. No outer sleeve and no plastic. The whole box is kerbside recyclable.

Will a refill fit a glass I already own

It fits every glass we have poured since 2022 — 78 mm internal diameter for the 220 g, 101 mm for the 420 g. If you measure 78 mm across the inside rim, the plug will drop in. It will not fit a tapered jar from another maker.

Can I be told when a sold-out scent is back

Yes. Every sold-out candle keeps its price and its page and swaps its button for a waitlist. The back-in date on the card is the day it comes out of cure, not the day we hope to pour it.
